Overwhelmed? You’re Not Alone.
But Here’s How Midlife Women Are Taking Back Control—One Small Step at a Time.
Feeling overwhelmed lately? Of course you are. It’s practically a full-time job trying to keep up with Instagram hacks, TikTok tips, Pinterest boards, hormone news, protein intake, and every other shiny and wellness trend screaming for your attention.
Welcome to midlife.
Where everyone from your social feed to the wellness aisle is shouting about what you should be doing—and meanwhile, you’re just trying to remember what day it is and why you walked into the room.
Let me say this loud and clear: Overwhelm is not your fault. But staying stuck in it? That’s where your power comes in. ✨🎉
The Overwhelm Epidemic in Women’s Health
I believe one of the biggest issues we face in midlife isn’t just declining hormones—it’s the mental load that comes from too much information and not enough clarity.
We’re bombarded by messages:
Try this supplement
Add this cream
Buy this $300 protocol
Detox! Rejuvenate! Age gracefully! Balance your cortisol while standing on a vibration plate with your lymphatic drainage tea in hand
Then there’s HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy). Is it good? Is it bad? Do you need it? Do you need bloodwork? How long do I stay on it? Is it really working?? It’s. A. Lot. 🤯
For many, the sheer volume of information doesn’t lead to empowerment—it leads to shutdown. Or inconsistency—jumping from one thing to the next, never knowing if it really helped because they couldn’t stick with it long enough to feel a real difference. It’s a constant cycle of starting over, fueled by doubt, decision fatigue, and the sneaky belief that someone else must know better. That kind of mental overload doesn’t just exhaust you—it erodes your confidence in your own ability to lead yourself.
Why You’re Not Broken—Your Nervous System Is Just Overloaded
Let’s break it down.
That paralyzed feeling you get? That’s your nervous system crying out for a break. You are NOT lazy or weak. You’re just maxed out.
Midlife brings a series of fires:
Aging parents who now need care (often without understanding how to care for themselves)
Grown children who still need emotional support
Financial concerns
Relationship transitions
Career shifts
And the deep question: What do I want the rest of my life to look like?
According to AARP, 60% of caregivers are women, and the average caregiver spends over 20 hours a week supporting someone else. That’s a part-time job and it can be difficult.
No wonder it feels like too much. That statistic alone stresses me out. I do not want to saddle my children with caring for me. I refuse to stress about it, but instead small realistic goals that I can be proud of and NOT burn me out.
So… What’s the Solution?
This is where I get fired up. 👊🏼👏🏻👏🏻
This is where self-leadership becomes your superpower.
Your health is way too important to leave in the hands of Instagram influencers or “ Dr. Google”. Even with all the information in the world, you’ll still going to have doubts and The only person who can lead you through this next chapter… is you. Learning to trust your self. Learning to make decisions and quit procrastinating. LEARNING what works for your body and what you want it to look like 20 years from now.
Here's how you start:
🧘♀️ 1. Regulate, Don’t Just Hustle
If your nervous system is shot, all the green smoothies in the world won’t help. That’s why I teach breathwork, meditation, yoga, tapping and emotional regulation tools that are rooted in ancient wisdom and backed by science.
It’s not about turning into a Zen master overnight or spending hours on end. It’s about building resilience and learning to respond—not react—to life’s curveballs. It’s about building a life on purpose instead of reacting.
I know how hard this is. I quit the gym 7 months ago because my nervous system was fried. Life threw a curve ball and had to reassess my whole exercise routine. I took a time-out. No! Its not forever! It takes leadership and it was the best thing I could have done for myself. You have to listen to your body to know when you are pushing yourself too hard and when you aren’t doing enough and YOU are the only one who knows this info.
🔥 2. Set a Small, Specific Goal This Month
It’s the beginning of the month! This is the Perfect time to pick ONE thing. Just one. To do now until the end of the month.
Drink half your body weight in ounces of water (or just increase your current intake).
Hold a 30-second plank and build from there.
Get 7 hours of sleep by putting yourself to bed on time.
Do 10 minutes of movement daily.
Small wins compound. Our brain loves a win. Start small so you can feel like you are winning. Break it down how often, what time, get specific. Be realistic.
🛠 3. Track It—Even If You Hate Tracking
I know the resistance:
“I don’t have time.”
“It feels controlling.”
“I won’t stick with it.”
“If I miss a day, I’ll feel like a failure.”
But here’s the truth: tracking doesn’t mean perfection—it means awareness. And awareness is the beginning of change.
Want help? I’ll send you my free Midlife Habit Tracker to make it easy. You can even cross things off in pen like the rebel you are.
🧠 Whats the point???
Why Tracking Matters:
Research from the American Psychological Association shows that when we track our habits—even something as simple as water or walking—we create positive reinforcement loops in the brain. We’re more likely to repeat behaviors that we acknowledge and see progress in. That dopamine hit from checking a box? It’s real.
